Houston is not only a dynamic city, but also an incredibly resilient one. While many in our city experienced life-altering losses during and after the storm, we are recovering quickly thanks to the tireless spirit of our amazing residents and their on-going relief efforts. Hurricane Harvey showed us that Houstonians are ready to help their neighbors at a moment’s notice in the face of adversity. That being said, Day for Night will show support through fundraising efforts to help get people back on their feet.
Day for Night aims to make the festival experience one that you won’t forget. That being said, memories of people making you feel uncomfortable or harassed are the kinds of memories we will avoid at all costs. Day for Night does not tolerate any kind of harassment, from non-consensual touching to inappropriate comments. We want all participants to immediately notify Day for Night security or staff if they experience or witness these kinds of behaviors as we will work to make sure it doesn’t happen again so that you feel safe at the festival.
Day for Night has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment of any kind and we want to make sure everyone feels comfortable in the festival environment regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, gender identity, gender presentation, sexual orientation, age, body size, disability, appearance, religion, citizenship, or pregnancy.
Harassment includes (but is not limited to): inappropriate physical contact, harassing or non-consensual photography or recording, offensive comments, verbal or physical intimidation, stalking, and physical assault.

Free Press Houston and New York-based creative agency Work-Order are responsible for the creation of Day For Night.
For 13 years, Free Press Houston has been independently publishing a newspaper dedicated to local arts, music, and political coverage. In 2009, they founded Free Press Summer Festival, an annual music festival which has hosted notable acts such as Jack White, Major Lazer, Willie Nelson, Skrillex, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, and Lauren Hill, among others.
Work-Order is the creative partnership of Keira Alexandra and Houston native Kiffer Keegan. The practice focuses on experiential branding from concept to execution for clients such as Apple, The New York Times, Huffington Post, Showtime and Design Within Reach.
The festival recently partnered with music industry veteran Randall Jamail. He brings years of experience and relationships from both the music industry and public relations. Jamail’s involvement is part of an aggressive plan to grow the Day For Night into more than a music festival, but into a internationally recognized arts and cultural civic event.
It is our aim for Day for Night attendees to be as engaged as they walk from stage to stage as when they’re watching their favorite band. We believe disassociating art and music is boring. With dozens of art installations throughout our festival campus, you can explore awe inspiring installations when you’re not dancing to the music.
Houston is rapidly approaching the distinction of becoming the third largest city in the US. The greater Houston area has a population of over 5 million and we have seen a recent renaissance in arts, music and culture. We can put a man on the moon and throw a bad ass party.
