Mary Lattimore & Jeff Zeigler

Sunday 3:00–3:40 Blue Stage

Philadelphia-natives Mary Lattimore and Jeff Zeigler team up to create a wide range of hypnotizing, suspenseful and gorgeous pieces of music. Lattimore, who has been classically trained on the harp since age eleven, has worked closely with the likes of Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth, singer-songwriter Kurt Vile, and indie-rock songstress Sharon Van Etten. Zeigler, the second half of the awe-inspiring duo, is a multi-instrumentalist who has produced albums for Vile (Childish Prodigy), as well as rock band The War on Drugs (Slave Ambient).  In 2013, the duo premiered their score for 1968 French silent film Le Révélateur, receiving a nod from the film’s director Philippe Garrel who showcased the film with every subsequent performance of the score. The talented musicians’ debut album Slant of Light was released in 2014 on Thrill Jockey Records and consists of four improvisations that are surprisingly broad in focus given the duo’s limited, idiosyncratic instrumentation. Lattimore and Zeigler are working on a new studio album for release in 2017 and will be performing their music inspired by Le Révélateur at additional screenings throughout the US and Europe.
